Dab in the heart of Banyoles, the Regional Archaeology Museum encourages visitors to discover enthralling palaeontology, archaeology and numismatic collections, fruit of the excavations conducted in the Pla de l'Estany region between the mid 19th century and today.

Its broad collection permits a tour spanning from times remote to the medieval period. Prominent findings include the fossil remains of large animals, the Banyoles jaw and the remarkable objects extracted from the SerinyĆ  caves and Neolithic village La Draga, one of Western Europe's earliest settlements.
